This is a "Welcome" suncatcher, and like other Welcomes, it serves a unique purpose. Usually, a suncatcher is placed on a well lit surface like a window facing inward, towards the room. With welcomes, they are placed facing outward, away from the indoor viewer. Welcomes are then used primarily on front doors, or other door windows that allow traffic in from the outside. This is a particularly large and beautiful one, with a diameter of over 5" and a bunny hiding in the flowers growing in the middle. Brass plating and all makes this piece a great deal for $4.00, and even better knowing there is no postage to pay.
